Laugh-out-loud comedy and heartfelt romance merge with the Old West in “Over the Edge”, the third installment of the Kincaid Bride Series by Mary Connealy.

On a stage coach headed for Colorado City, Callie Kincaid is on a mission.  And that mission is to track down her no-good husband and give me a piece of her mind.  He abandoned her with no regard for her welfare and Callie is determined to make him pay.  But first she must defend herself and her infant son against a band of stage coach robbers.  But that’s not a problem for Callie.  After all, she was raised in Texas.

Seth Kincaid, a somewhat oblivious, but well-meaning rancher, stumbles upon the stage robbery and rescues Callie (unbeknownst to him that it is actually his WIFE!).  Callie, who is a bloody mess, is none too happy to see this sorry excuse for a husband.  He’s got an awful lot of nerve rescuing her and acting like he doesn’t remember her!  Seth takes it upon himself to prove to Callie that he has no recollection of her, but he’s determined to do right by her now that she’s in Colorado.

Mary Connealy has a very specific writing niche that she has perfected.  Not many people would think to put comedy and romance in the setting of the Old West, but Connealy pulls it off with flair.  Her novels keep you turning the pages and counting down the days until the next release.

Although not my favorite series of Connealy’s, “Over the Edge” is my favorite of the Kincaid Bride novels.  Definitely read  #1 “Out of Control” and #2 “In Too Deep“ beforehand, as there is a lot of back-story that will leave you somewhat confused.   For the BEST  and classic Connealy novels, I suggest you start with her Lassoed in Texas series, then move on the Montana Marriages series, then finish up with the three books in the series titled Sophie’s Daughters.  All of the novels flow together and are FABULOUS.

I reviewed this novel for Christian Fiction Blog Alliance.  A positive review was not required, only an honest one.
